A favicon is the little picture next to the URL in your address bar and the title of the page on the tab.
Too add a favicon to blogger you will first need to find an image that will look good really tiny, I suggest something simple and easily recognizable.
Go to GenFavicon and upload your image to the website, choose 16 X 16 as the size.
Adjust the grey square around the image you want as the favicon.
Capture and Preview.
Download Favicon.-This will open up a page with just your favicon showing in it.
Right click on the favicon and save it to your desktop.
Next you will need to open Paint, or a similar program, and open up the Favicon file. Dont worry about what it looks like in the program all you are going to do is switch the file type so you can upload it to an image hosting site.
Go to File and Save As
Save it as a JPEG or PNG file
Next go to your image hosting site, I like to use Photobucket because it is free and easy to use. If you do not have an account, you will have to register one, but they do not send any spam.
Upload your favicon and save.
Now open up a seperate tab or window and go to the dashboard of your blog. Choose Layout and then Edit HTML.
If you hae a PC, not a Mac, press Control and the F key on your keyboard.
If you have a Mac press the Apple key and the F key.
This will give you a search bar on the bottom of your window. Search for "title" without the quotes.
You should find
Right below this line add the following
Notice in the code above the your url
Now switch over to your Photobucket page and click on the favicon image.
Scroll down and you will see a box titled "Share this image"
Right click over the link labeled Direct URL
Select Copy
Now go back to your blogger HTML page and highlight the your url with your mouse
Right click on the highlighted part and select paste
Now save the changes you have made to your HTML and enjoy your new favicon!
